It wasn’t too long ago that we were in an uncertainty about the future of Bury FC due to insolvency and in turn, fans formed Bury AFC. So, it is great to see only two and a half years later, how well they are doing.

With a home win of 4-0 against St Helens Town, they have achieved promotion in their first full season. Being crowned Champions of the North West Counties Division One North is a historic moment for the club.

After only losing one game all season, Andy Welsh, the manager, is “absolutely buzzin” with the triumph for Bury AFC.

At the beginning of March, Bury AFC fans organised a raffle at the Bury AFC versus AFC Darwen game, at The Neuven Stadium Radcliffe. They did a fantastic job of raising over £4000 in the gazebo situated outside of the ground, the government matched the money raised, meaning the total was over £8000. All proceeds of this raffle have gone towards supporting the people of Ukraine.
